In this context, as of February 1, 2025, road and infrastructure works will start at the Demirhan junction location on the Nicosia-Famagusta main road and the Balıkesir junction location on the Famagusta-Nicosia main road.
Drivers who will use the road route in question are kindly requested to comply with traffic signs and signals during the infrastructure works.
The "Mağusa Road Demirhan Balıkesir Junction Dynamic (Smart) Signaling Project", which will be a solution to the traffic congestion experienced every day on the Demirhan - Balıkesir road, is planned to be implemented in a short time.
All shifting and construction works for the signalized intersection to be built in Demirhan location will be covered by Değirmenlik Akıncılar Municipality. The supply and installation of the smart signaling system will be carried out by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport. During the construction of the signalized intersection, the supervision will be carried out by the Highways Department.
Traffic control will be provided at Demirhan and Balıkesir Junction as of February 1
According to the statement made by Değirmenlik Municipality, after the protocol was signed between the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and Değirmenlik Akıncılar Municipality for the construction of a dynamic (smart) signalized intersection in the Demirhan village location, the tender phase was completed and infrastructure works are starting for the implementation of the project.
